As I’m writing this blog post I’m using a Mid 2010 MacBook.
Yikes! SEND PRAYERS! JESUS TAKE THE WHEEL! How do you even function with a six-year-old computer? Like that’s hella old.. I know but this is my first Macintosh purchase that I paid with my own money in the 7th grade. But now that I am in my first year at college. I kinda need a new computer. My computer is still going strong. But sometimes “she” is lagging and doesn’t run they way I would want my computer (even after a bunch of virus scanners, memory cleaners etc..)
I’m very interested in the new generations of MacBooks that are coming out soon. But I have some difficulties with what is said to be in store soon. I’ve read all of the articles on MacRumors, MacWorld, and some Youtube videos.
First is only having one USB port or having one port just for the charging. 
That isn’t really idealistic for me. I like to charge my iPhone in my computer as well as having a lot of stuff plugged into my computers. I also like to use my laptop on my bed. There wouldn’t be a lot of bed room if I don’t have more than one USB port ( I know first world problems). But I’m also scared about the memory in the new MacBooks. I have 8GB of added on memory in my computer. I have a lot of shit. Mostly music and photos. But I don’t want to risk deleting any of it. I also don’t want to have another external hard drive to keep the other stuff in it.
Another thing is cost. Now we all know Macs are super expensive to begin with. But I do have some money saved up and I could use the student discount once I get it. It’s going to be a while until I get a new computer. But I think it would be worth it in the end. I’m a college student majoring in Communications. I need Photoshop eventually Audition. I need a more upgraded computer in my work life if what I’m doing now is what I’ll do in my career.
But I can’t wait for a better battery life and hopefully a better web camera to use. The one in this Macbook is really bad. Even in good lighting. I get 3hrs before I have to fully charge my battery again. So hopefully the MacBooks will lead up to its expectations.
