In a recent news, Kylie Jenner, the daughter of Olympic medalist Caitlyn “Bruce” Jenner and Kris Kardashian Jenner are definitely happy parents. In Forbes August issue, They claim that Kylie Jenner is the youngest self-made Billionaire, yes billionaire with her cosmetic line Kylie Cosmetics. Kylie Jenner is known pop culture influencer of my generation. She has such an impact with her presence on social media, the reality show on E! Network, the cosmetics line, and a plethora of more media outlets.
The Photoshop Chronicles Part II
I took these photos at Sandy Hook. I dragged my sister to be my model for some of the shots. I used a FujiFilm FinepixS2950 Digital Camera. My camera has a blue tint to my over all photos. I don’t know if this was from editing the sharpness in Photoshop or a filter on my camera but I stuck with it. I mostly edited the photos so they look natural and not too over done. I feel the less editing you do the more you’ve captured the moment in its self. In one of the shots found a dead fish wash up upon the shore so I decided to take pictures of the tail because was the most cluttered with rocks and shells. The beach was getting really cooler and clearer as the sun was setting. I’m proud that I got a great shot of NYC.
I also used the Macro setting on my camera to zoom in for the most perfect details that hopefully captured the moment.

I edited these photos in Photoshop. I tried not to do some heavy editing on the photos but wanting to keep it a cool yet natural effect on the pictures. 3 out of the 5 pictures that included art I made it brighter and more sharper because I didn’t want to add more art on top of art. I mostly adjusted the brightness and the exposer some of the pieces were getting in the picture.

I’ve been obsessed with male R&B singers. Between Justin Timberlake and Chris Brown (early years) its been a non stop repeat between these two artist. But I’ve fallen in love with Zayn. Yes… Zayn Malik ex One Direction band member. I’ve always tried to not listen to the corny teeny-bop stuff. But ZAYN MALIK IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT. His riffs are amazing. He was totally under appreciated in One Direction. A fantastic vocalist.
But now it’s totally different. He has become into his own since One Direction. His main influences are Prince, R. Kelly ,Usher. He also likes Marvin Gaye and Bob Marley. He talks about his sexual experiences more, a fan of weed, and a lover of fashion. He is basically the Muslim Ken Barbie doll in my opinion. He totally has an edge that makes everyone attach onto him. On top that , he’s dating one of the most famous models in the world Gigi Hadid. He does have it all. He is going to have an autobiography come out in November about his life called Zayn. And is killing the charts with Pillowtalk ,BeFour, iTs YoU, LIKE I WOULD etc.
If you want to listen to his debut album Mind of Mind I recommend to listen to his whole album at night. (He mostly gets his inspiration at night). There are 18 tracks on Deluxe Edition album. Target bonus has 2 additional tracks. My favorites are sHe, dRuNk, wRoNg (feat. Kehlani), lUcOzAdE, BoRderZ. You can tell there is underlying lyrical hints about One Direction, Perrie Edwards, the Music Industry, family, faith. He produced the album with Malay (produce Frank Ocean’s album Channel Orange). You can tell he put his soul into this album. I’m definitely a fan for life and can’t wait to see whats up next for him.
The White Meat of Tim Burton
Like most millennials living in Web 2.0 I usually find the recent news in Twitter moments on my iPhone. A moment that made me second guess myself was the recent outcry of Tim Burton lack of diversity in his films. If anybody who knows me knows that Tim Burton is life. His films are so beautifully done (in my opinion). Whenever 13 Nights of Halloween schedule comes up on Freeform (previous ABC Family) I’m so excited to watch every Tim Burton film. (Hell I even did my last project in Film Studies about Tim Burton). So this controversy seriously made me rethink about my love for Tim Burton. Does this make me white washed into viewing his films or am I viewing content from a white washed person?

So I’ll point out some of the major characteristics: Same Use of Actors, The Rebellious Teen, & the Blonde.
Same Use of Actor: His frequent use of collaborators are Johnny Depp, Helen Bohnman Carter , and Christopher Lee. Clearly they are all white, Johnny Depp is half white because of half Cherokee Indian (possibility). But still all white actors.
The Rebellious teen- Prominent rebellious teen involved in his films Beetle Juice, Edward Scissorhands, Sweeney Todd, Alice in Wonderland , Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (preteens but you get the point). All involving white teens.
But I do have to somehow defend his style that he portrays into his films. Probably one the best known Gothic artist in the world.
Gothic Style in his majority of his films. Gothic Art originated with architecture during the late medieval times in Europe and was ridiculed during the Renaissance period as an offensive style. Effects of shadows, long drawn elements, harsh contrasts, and black and white used a lot in his films is an example of Gothic Art .
He also has over saturated the colors in his films. and undersaturated color, often in order to use the color of the scene. To create a dream like appearance.

So to portray this style is all black and white. Within the Renaissance period where was there was no diversity of color in people but in art.
But I do understand where the frustration is coming from #OscarSoWhite. It shouldn’t matter that a white person has to play that part. Tim Burton seems like a person who is set in their ways and doesn’t want to change the way he sees his vision. I don’t think he is opposed to it at all. But he doesn’t envision his works in that way.
The way he explained it to the Bustle was not the greatest way to cover it up. But Tim Burton is known as a quirky, bizarre character.
Even Samuel L. Jackson defended him.
Just hopefully Tim Burton will be more aware of who he chooses for his roles in upcoming movies.
Apple MacBook Pro 2016? Yah or Nah?
As I’m writing this blog post I’m using a Mid 2010 MacBook.
Yikes! SEND PRAYERS! JESUS TAKE THE WHEEL! How do you even function with a six-year-old computer? Like that’s hella old.. I know but this is my first Macintosh purchase that I paid with my own money in the 7th grade. But now that I am in my first year at college. I kinda need a new computer. My computer is still going strong. But sometimes “she” is lagging and doesn’t run they way I would want my computer (even after a bunch of virus scanners, memory cleaners etc..)
I’m very interested in the new generations of MacBooks that are coming out soon. But I have some difficulties with what is said to be in store soon. I’ve read all of the articles on MacRumors, MacWorld, and some Youtube videos.
First is only having one USB port or having one port just for the charging. 
That isn’t really idealistic for me. I like to charge my iPhone in my computer as well as having a lot of stuff plugged into my computers. I also like to use my laptop on my bed. There wouldn’t be a lot of bed room if I don’t have more than one USB port ( I know first world problems). But I’m also scared about the memory in the new MacBooks. I have 8GB of added on memory in my computer. I have a lot of shit. Mostly music and photos. But I don’t want to risk deleting any of it. I also don’t want to have another external hard drive to keep the other stuff in it.
Another thing is cost. Now we all know Macs are super expensive to begin with. But I do have some money saved up and I could use the student discount once I get it. It’s going to be a while until I get a new computer. But I think it would be worth it in the end. I’m a college student majoring in Communications. I need Photoshop eventually Audition. I need a more upgraded computer in my work life if what I’m doing now is what I’ll do in my career.
But I can’t wait for a better battery life and hopefully a better web camera to use. The one in this Macbook is really bad. Even in good lighting. I get 3hrs before I have to fully charge my battery again. So hopefully the MacBooks will lead up to its expectations.

You’ve might have seen her on Instagram or some of her videos in YouTube or even stream on SoundCloud. But sometimes people don’t know that Niykee is a legit artist. She got her start on YouTube by uploading covers of rap songs online. She got notoriety by her cover Love Sosa by Chief Keef. Shes one to be reckoned wit and here’s why. 
I discovered Niykee through a friend. We were jamming out in her room. Her song Infinity came on and legit started to cry. Her lyrics are so powerful. Her inspirations come from rappers and folk singers.
Her first musical release was with Capital Records. EP Bad Intentions is definitely one of my favorites. She curses, raspy, edgy, and sensual. Her confidence screams throughout her songs. For a little bit she wasn’t releasing any music because of dispute with her record label and openly wrote a letter to her fans apologizing about her status. 
Her next installment is The Bedroom Tour Playlist. Her first full album with new record label RCA Records including 12 tracks. Most of the tracks are explicit so this isn’t an album for your little sister to hear. My favorites are Nexus, OT, Bad Intentions featuring Migos. But some of these tracks most of the fans have heard because Niykee would leak her own songs onto SoundCloud. They are just better produced and mixed. She has some slow songs like Lullaby and I’m Ready but also has hardcore songs like Devil and King.
In November I’m going to see Niykee in NYC for her tour Centerfold Tour promotion of The Bedroom Tour Playlist . I got VIP TICKETS. I can’t wait to see her. She’s such a bad ass bitch and can’t wait to meet her face to face.
Acrylic vs. Gel Nails
Kylie Jenner’s hands all over Instagram. It’s hard not to cave into the expensive of nail extension trend. They look pretty cool. The allure of fake nails has always capture my attention. I started getting my nails done when I was eight years old. It was the basic manicure with nail polish. But soon enough it turned into wanting fake nails. Fake nails aren’t that cheap and have to get them refilled every 2 to 4 weeks depending on your own personal growth on the nail bed.
You have the choice between Acrylic and Gel. (I personally like Acrylic better but I’ll get in more depth later). Gel has been more popular trend to get. Every girl at my highschool had Gels instead of Acrylics on.
*Not a professional nail technician just going my by my surplus of years of getting my nails done :)*

The process (approximate time 45 minutes-1/15 minutes)
- Gel: Set with a gel (duh) in UV light cured onto the natural nail bed. Formed with a small brush. Can be applied onto the natural nail or on top of nail extensions. They file down with electric nail file.
- Pro’s: shiny appearance, very smooth, with manicure an assortment of colors
- Con’s: If done improperly the gel can peel off. If not cured properly they feel very mushy and very pliable and leave finger prints.
- Acrylic: Set with monomer liquid and powder. Formed with an oval brush. Doesn’t have to be cured with UV light. The air & time makes the nail harden. (Depending on the nail technician they can ask to put your nails in the UV lights just to further more harden the acrylic to the nails). They file down the acrylic so there is no scratches or unevenness in the surface of the nail with nail file, buffer, and electric nail file.
- Pro’s: The nail has more strength with powder, cheaper, easier to fix, easier to remove.
- Con’s: There isn’t a set way to make it look shiny so sometimes the nail technician can con your way into getting the gel top coat for a couple more bucks. You can see the nail growth if you wait too long for refill. They yellow if you get Pink & White, there is no set color. You can have a set color acrylic or nail polish on top ( could cost you more in the end).
Pricing
I’ve tried to tell my friends to get Acrylic instead of Gels. First off they are way cheaper than gels. I would approximate that a full set is 25-42 depending on what type of Acrylics (color, pink & white (french), natural tips, white tips) and refill is 16-25. Gel nails for a full set 45-65 even higher. Usually in Gels they offer colored or pink & white. Refill costs (25-35) even higher. *personal note I think they price is more expensive because its more popular* JUST REMEMBER TO TIP. I tip around $7. But a personal choice for tipping.
